REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

Upholding Bibliographic Integrity and Operational Transparency

At Kerolos LLC, our overarching mission as a premium independent press is to provide our readership with access to meticulously researched, paradigm-shifting analytical non-fiction and compelling literary excellence. Because we operate at the intersection of deep historical inquiry and modern global trade distribution, our operational model differs fundamentally from legacy publishing houses and traditional retail environments.

To bypass traditional gatekeepers and maintain a highly sustainable, zero-waste imprint, Kerolos LLC relies exclusively on advanced print-on-demand (POD) logistics and instantaneous digital distribution. This means that we do not maintain physical warehouses of pre-printed inventory. Every physical book is custom-manufactured specifically for the reader who ordered it, and every digital e-book is encrypted and dispatched instantaneously.

Because our physical and digital supply chains are engineered for immediate fulfillment, our Refund and Cancellation Policy is governed by strict, industry-standard protocols aligned with the requirements of our global printing partners (including IngramSpark, Bookvault, and the Amazon KDP network).

This document serves as a legally binding, transparent framework detailing the exact conditions under which cancellations, replacements, and refunds are authorized. By transacting with Kerolos LLC via our digital storefront (https://books.kerolos.work), you explicitly acknowledge and accept the terms of this policy.

SECTION 1: ORDER CANCELLATION PROTOCOLS

The agility of our global trade distribution network means that the moment an order is placed on our website, the data is almost instantly securely transmitted to the print facility geographically closest to your shipping address.

1.1. The 24-Hour Cancellation Window
If you have placed an order for a physical book (hardcover or paperback) and need to cancel it, you must submit a formal cancellation request to support@kerolos.work within 24 hours of the original transaction time.

1.2. Post-Production Commensement
Once the 24-hour window has elapsed, or if the printing facility has already initiated the digital ripping and physical manufacturing process (whichever occurs first), the order is permanently locked into the supply chain. At this stage, raw materials—paper, ink, and binding glue—have been allocated specifically for your copy. Consequently, once a book has entered the production queue, the order cannot be canceled, modified, or intercepted under any circumstances.

1.3. Digital Order Cancellations
Because digital products (e-books) are delivered instantaneously via an automated secure download link, digital orders cannot be canceled once the payment has been successfully authorized and captured.

SECTION 2: PHYSICAL BOOK REFUND & REPLACEMENT POLICY

Kerolos LLC is committed to the highest echelons of bibliographic integrity. Every title that bears our imprint is meticulously formatted to adhere to strict IBPA standards. However, because the physical manufacturing of a book involves complex mechanical machinery, anomalous printing errors or damage during global freight transit can occasionally occur.

Our policy regarding physical book returns mirrors the rigorous, zero-waste standards of our primary printing partners, such as IngramSpark and Bookvault.

2.1. Manufacturing Defects and Transit Damage
We stand unconditionally behind the physical quality of our publications. If you receive a book that suffers from a verified manufacturing defect or has sustained severe damage during transit, Kerolos LLC will authorize a free, expedited replacement or a full refund.

Valid manufacturing defects include, but are not limited to:

  • Inverted, missing, or duplicated interior pages.
  • Severe ink smearing or unreadable typography that impedes the intellectual depth of the text.
  • Improper binding resulting in loose or detached pages.
  • Smashed spines or deeply creased covers resulting from carrier mishandling.

2.2. How to Claim a Defect/Damage Replacement
To protect our independent press from fraudulent claims, our printing networks require objective visual evidence of any defect. To initiate a claim, you must adhere to the following protocol:

  1. Timeframe: You must email our support division (support@kerolos.work) within 14 calendar days of the confirmed delivery date.
  2. Required Information: Your email must include your official Order Number, the email address used at checkout, and a brief description of the defect.
  3. Photographic Evidence: You must attach clear, high-resolution photographs demonstrating the damage or defect. (For example, if pages are missing, provide a photo of the gap in the binding and the surrounding page numbers; if the cover is torn, provide a clear photo of the tear).
  4. Resolution: Upon verification of the defect, our team will immediately route a priority replacement order to the nearest POD facility at absolutely no cost to you. In the vast majority of cases, you will not be required to ship the defective book back to our corporate headquarters.

2.3. The “Buyer’s Remorse” Exemption
We approach the acquisition of knowledge with absolute seriousness, and we expect our readership to approach their intellectual investments with the same deliberate intent.

Because every physical book is custom-manufactured on-demand at the exact moment of purchase, Kerolos LLC does not accept returns, nor do we issue refunds, for “buyer’s remorse.”

We do not offer refunds under the following circumstances:

  • You changed your mind after the 24-hour cancellation window.
  • You misunderstood the objective analysis or premise of the book, despite our detailed product descriptions.
  • You purchased the physical book but later decided you would prefer the digital e-book format.
  • You disagree with the historical inquiry, thesis, or paradigm-shifting arguments presented within the text.

As an independent press championing intellectual freedom, we guarantee the physical quality and bibliographic integrity of the book; we do not guarantee that every reader will uniformly agree with the rigorous academic arguments or complex literary narratives our authors present. All physical sales, absent a mechanical defect, are strictly final.

SECTION 3: DIGITAL PRODUCT (E-BOOK) REFUND POLICY

The distribution of digital intellectual property presents unique logistical parameters. When you purchase an e-book from Kerolos LLC, you are granted immediate, unrestricted access to the complete digital manuscript.

3.1. Strict No-Refund Policy on Digital Goods
Due to the non-returnable nature of digital files, all sales of digital products and e-books are final and non-refundable. Once the secure download link has been generated and dispatched to your email address, the transaction is considered fully consummated. We do not issue refunds for digital goods to prevent digital piracy and the unauthorized duplication of our meticulously researched analytical non-fiction.

3.2. Digital File Corruption or Technical Anomalies
While our e-books are professionally formatted by expert typographers to ensure seamless integration with modern e-readers, technical anomalies can occasionally occur during the download process.

If you receive a corrupted file, or if the download link provided in your confirmation email fails to execute properly, Kerolos LLC will provide comprehensive technical support. You must contact support@kerolos.work within 14 days of purchase. Our technical team will verify your purchase and issue a new, manually generated download link or directly transfer a clean, uncorrupted digital file to ensure you have uninterrupted access to the text. We will replace the file, but we will not refund the transaction.

SECTION 4: ADDRESS ERRORS, ABANDONED PACKAGES, AND CARRIER FAILURES

The successful global trade distribution of our physical catalog relies heavily on the accuracy of the data provided by the reader during the checkout process.

4.1. Customer Input Errors
Kerolos LLC’s fulfillment software automatically imports the exact shipping address entered by the customer at checkout directly into our POD network. We do not manually alter or verify shipping addresses.

  • If a physical book is undeliverable, lost, or returned to the printing facility because the customer provided an incorrect, incomplete, or inaccessible shipping address (e.g., missing an apartment number, incorrect postal code), Kerolos LLC is not responsible for the loss.
  • In such instances, the customer will not be refunded. If the customer still wishes to receive the book, they will be required to place a new order and cover the costs of manufacturing and shipping a second copy.

4.2. Unclaimed or Customs-Abandoned Packages
As detailed in our Shipping & Delivery Policy, international buyers are solely responsible for the payment of any local import duties, VAT, or customs clearance fees assessed by their government.

  • If an international shipment is halted at customs and the buyer refuses to pay the legally mandated local taxes, the package will typically be marked as “abandoned” or “destroyed” by the customs agency.
  • Kerolos LLC will not issue refunds for packages that are abandoned, destroyed, or returned to sender due to the buyer’s failure or refusal to satisfy their localized tax or import obligations.

4.3. Carrier Loss
If your shipping address was entered flawlessly, no customs fees are pending, and the logistics carrier (e.g., USPS, Royal Mail, FedEx) definitively loses your package in transit, Kerolos LLC will assume full financial responsibility. Once the carrier officially classifies the package as “Lost in Transit,” we will immediately dispatch a free replacement via our POD network.

SECTION 5: CHARGEBACKS AND PAYMENT GATEWAY DISPUTES

Kerolos LLC utilizes highly secure, heavily encrypted, and internationally recognized payment gateways to process transactions. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for fraudulent chargebacks or the weaponization of the payment dispute process.

5.1. Mandatory Good-Faith Resolution
Before initiating a chargeback or a payment dispute with your credit card issuer or banking institution, you are legally and contractually obligated to contact Kerolos LLC’s support division (support@kerolos.work) to attempt a good-faith resolution.

5.2. Chargeback Fraud
Filing a chargeback for a product that was successfully delivered to the provided address, or filing a chargeback because of “buyer’s remorse” for a custom-manufactured POD book, constitutes “friendly fraud.”

  • Kerolos LLC aggressively contests all illegitimate chargebacks. We will submit the buyer’s IP address, time-stamped order confirmation, delivery tracking data, and our legally binding Terms of Service and Refund Policy directly to the banking institution and the payment gateway to reverse the dispute.
  • Any customer who initiates a fraudulent chargeback against Kerolos LLC will be permanently banned from our digital storefront, and their information may be reported to global payment processors to prevent future fraudulent activities across independent commerce networks.
